Is your child struggling to read and spell?
Is it affecting their self-confidence?
Is getting homework done a constant struggle?
My name is Lana, and I am here to give your child the essential tools to become a strong reader and writer, using a science-based approach called structured literacy.
We want to show your child that with the right tools, hard work and consistency, it is possible to learn how to become a strong reader, speller and learner.
Our Approach
-

Executive Functioning Skill-Building
Executive functioning is the brain's ability to self-regulate, organize, and plan into the future. Our executive functioning skills determine the quality of our life accomplishments, such as emotional regulation, completing tasks, preparing for upcoming events; all skills that your child needs to be a confident, successful individual.
-

Science-based Literacy Instruction
Each child is given personalized instruction based on the science of reading. We will explicitly teach your child the rules and patterns of linguistics. We practice these skills until they are automatic, allowing your child to use brain-power on extracting meaning, rather than on decoding language-elements.
-

A Multi-Sensory approach
In order to engage multiple areas of the brain, each lesson will incorporate visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile elements. This multisensory approach ensures that students can absorb information through a variety of channels, reinforcing learning and improving retention.
Testimonials
love from families
“Our lives have changed since Lana has started working with our daughter. She is accessible, kind and has rich knowledge on the world of learning differences and literacy remediation. Thanks to Lana, our kid is no longer dreading school, her behavior has changed for the better, and she is overall a more confident learner.”
— Parent of 4th Grader“It's been 3 years since our child started working with Lana and we could not be more thankful. We appreciate Lana's knowledge, professionalism, flexibility and holistic approach to educational therapy. However, what we value most is the care and compassion that Lana brings to each and every session. Our child values the trust Lana has fostered as well, feeling comfortable expressing themselves openly and honestly in the safe space Lana has created.”
— Parent of 5th Grader“Our child looks forward to the twice weekly meetings with eager anticipation, not only for the confidence they know will come from reviewing school work with Lana, but for the opportunity to update Lana on life outside of the classroom, knowing full well that Lana cares who they are, how they are and where they envision themselves heading. We feel so fortunate that wherever they are heading, they have Lana by their side to support and guide them!”
