Literacy Instruction

The Orton-Gillingham approach is a cognitive-science based approach to reading and writing instruction that was developed to re-wire the brain and remediate symptoms of dyslexia.

This approach is necessary for struggling learners, and beneficial for all learners.

In each session, we will be recording quantitative data of your child's progress, allowing us to hone in on your child's knowledge gap and fill it with zero guess-work.

Our 4-Step Framework

  • We start with a baseline assessment to formulate our goals.

  • Your child will gain the vital language skills to be a strong reader, speller and learner.

  • Apply these tools in the classroom and daily life.

  • Continuously refine our program to meet your child's ever-evolving needs.

Our Teaching Values

The foundation of my practice is based on my teaching values.

    Consistency

Consistency is key. We meet minimum 2x/week to re-wire and grow the brain, like a muscle!

  • Ticking boxes icon

    Persistence

We believe in roll-up-your-sleeves kind of hard work. It's not just about sweating it out, but also about the satisfaction that comes from knowing you've given your all to achieve something worthwhile.

  • Kindness icon

    Kindness

Kindness and respect set the stage for our sessions. It's all about creating a safe space to learn, grow, and have fun doing it.
